Adidas has been working hard to improve and push the new adiZero Rose 2 but now they have really created a shoe that performs on the court as well as looking good on the street with the adiZero Rose 2.5. This shoe features a higher profile for more ankle support and several features that increase stability while keeping the sleek silhouette that makes the adiZero Rose perfect for a point guard’s quick cuts and agile moves. The shoe also features a satellite view of Rose’s Englewood neighborhood on the toe box and “Cleared For Flight” on the insole. Nike+ FuelBand Debut

Last week Nike released a promo video for a new revolutionary product to release on January 19th, 2012 that could help you “make it count in 2012″. That product is the Nike+ Fuel Band which is an interactive wristband/watch that monitors your daily motion whether that movement be in the form of walking, running, playing a sport, or even dancing. As long as you stay active the band will count your steps, measure amount of calories burned, as well as time and translates your activity into a NikeFuel score. You can set goals for each day and with the use of a spectrum of LED lights monitor your progress. As you start the day the lights are in the red and As you continue throughout your day they change toward green, when green is reached then you have met your goal. This will normalize what we call “working out” and demonstrates that “Life Is A Sport” and you should “make it count”. Check out the videos and see if you will be ordering your Nike+ FuelBand.

It had been quite some time since we saw a new innovative design for a tennis shoe but it seems Nike thought so as well. For this years Australian Open Nike decided to design a new model for arguably the best tennis player in the world, Roger Federer. But if Nike was to design a shoe for the “best” of any sport than they would need the “best” designer to design it. That’s where legend Tinker Hatfield came in. As you watch this video and see Tinker at work, you realize that the man has still got IT, and no one will argue that this shoe is quite the specimen. Combining a Lunar foam with Nike Zoom technology makes it extremely comfortable and the ventilation gives it breathability. Tinker met the challenge of creating a hybrid that looks and feels like a running shoe but performs effectively on the tennis court, and it is safe to say he conquered it. Not only is this an awesome performance shoe but it looks nice and wearable on the street.

Nike Basketball: Year Of The Dragon Event In Shanghai

Being that these “Year Of The…” releases are to celebrate the Chinese astrological years, it is fitting that these models debut in China and that Nike Basketball holds an event of this caliber in Shanghai. The event featured displays of the four models which include the Nike Zoom Kobe VII (7), Nike Zoom KD IV (4), Nike Air Force 1, and the new Air Jordan 2012. It had a nice design of dragons in a mostly black and gold layout matching the Air Force 1′s and the new Nike Destroyer jacket. Nike Basketball played host to a 2-on-2 bball tournament of which participants received early pairs of these exclusive models. Nike+ “Make It Count” 1.19.2012

After the ball dropped to bring us this new year Nike released various videos with different athletes posing the question “How will you #MakeItCount In 2012?” and we all figured it was just random promotion surrounding the new year. Now we realize that Nike doesn’t do anything just for kicks and that “on January 19th, 2012 Nike will launch a revolutionary product” that is supposed to help you make it count in 2012. This new, Nike+, product would have us believe it is a Nike Running related release but in this promotional video we see “playmakers”, athletes (such as Kevin Durant, skateboarders, fighters, etc…), and regular Joe’s which would have us believe that this “product” or device has to do with more than just running. Could it be that Nike has developed a new performance device, rivaling adidas’ MiCoach, and upgrading from the simple and outdated Nike+ device for runners? Very likely. It’s a fitting time for this video montage as Kobe (in his 16th NBA season) is coming off his fourth consecutive 40 point game. Just when people thought Kobe Bryant was getting old and losing steam, he’s performing better than ever. If he were wearing Air Jordans, we might say “It’s gotta be the shoes.” But hey, it might very well be the shoes. With the new “Kobe System”, an adaptable performance shoe and philosophy for winning, Kobe Bryant might be proving to be the best player of the post-Jordan era, as well as this new era, and could potentially surpass MJ’s all time scoring record by the 2013 season. One more championship for Kobe will tie him with MJ’s 6 rings and many might take this comparison a little more seriously. Let’s see what the future holds…

The “Attack Fast” insole features separate front and heel Zoom units for the explosive steps Kobe takes while cutting and jab-stepping. The “Attack Strong” insole features a Lunar foam for landing support as Kobe skies over opponents for dunks and rebounds. Nike is pushing this “Kobe System” hard but the more they do the more it grows on us as a truly innovative design by Eric Avar and Nike.

This ad for the new CP3.V by Jordan Brand is quite bizarre. First of all it’s only 16 seconds but A LOT happens on the court in those 16 seconds. After viewing the video for the first time you realize there must be something missing or rather that you missed, because your eye is not quicker than Chris Paul in his new CP3.V. If you’re having trouble catching all of the details it’s because you need the ability to control the scene yourself to gain focus on everything going on. You can do this by visiting CP3: CHAOS on Nike.com and playing this mini-game where you take control of the “Chaos” by using Quickness. This is all weird but hey, it’s innovative and creative marketing. Respect JB.

Nike Basketball: Masaryk Towers Basketball Club Opens In NYC

New York City is known for having some of the world’s most notorious ballers, street pick up games, and legendary courts such as West 4th Street’s “The Cage”, Harlem’s “Rucker Park”, Uptown’s “Dyckman Park”, and Brooklyn;s “Sole In The Hole”. In the Lower East Side’s Masaryk Towers there once was an indoor basketball court that ballers tore up back in the day. Nike Basketball has decided to resurrect (renovate) this court and breathe life into it in the shape of a private basketball club. The club will be open until April 2012, for 24 hours a day and 7 days a week invitees can make use of the court, three trainers, and a training facility. Members are able to bring up to 19 friends for some SERIOUS pick up basketball. You show up as is, in regular clothing, and Nike will provide all the necessary balling gear to get down.
