This is a Starter Pittsburg Steelers jacket in the home colors. The Pittsburg Steelers are the oldest franchise in the AFC (American Football Conference) dating back to 1933, way before the merger. The Steelers have won more Super Bowls (6) than any other team in the NFL. The Steelers had control of the NFL in the 1970's by winning back to back Super Bowls in 75'-76' and again in 79'-80'. They did it with a Hall of Fame star studded cast of young players that included "Mean" Joe Green, Terry Bradshaw, Mel Blount, Jack Ham, Franco Harris, Lynn Swann, Jack Lambert, John Stallworth, and Mike Webster. They formed a dynasty in that decade winning 4 Super Bowls in 6 years and drafting more Hall of Famers than any other team in history. In 2005 and 2009 the Steelers won two more Super Bowls with the likes of coach Bill Cowher, runningback Jerome Bettis (2005), quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, wide receiver Hines Ward, and strong safety Troy Polamalu. This jacket signifies a history of American Football excellence and any Steelers fan or vintage collector would have a high appreciation for its value.
