This is a Starter jacket for the Kansas City Royals in their royal blue and white colors. The Kansas City Royals were founded by Ewing Kauffman in 1969 after the Athletics moved to Oakland in 1967. The team quickly became a force to be reckoned with in the American League. In 1980 they swept the Yankees in the ALCS but lost to the Phillies in the World Series. In 1985 the Royals made one of the biggest series comebacks in World Series history to beat their state rivals, the St. Louis Cardinals. Down 3-1 in the series the Royals won three games straight to take the championship, beating the Cardinals 11-0 in Game 7. This jacket is commemorative of the Royals' team history and accomplishments. Any KC fan or vintage collector would appreciate this piece.
