Rage Against the Machine is an American rock band that was founded out of Los Angeles, CA in 1991 by Zack De La Rocha, Tim Commerford, Tom Morello, and Brad Wilk. They put out their debut self-titled album in 92' which reached number one on Billboard in 1993. The band has become one of the most influential musical acts/artists/group ever due to their impacting polemical messages that spawned a young subculture of anti-corporate America, anti-cultural imperialism, and anti-government oppression Leftists that developed into much of the modern punk, hip-hop and thrash movements due to the bands influences from all of these genres (Afrika Bombaataa, Public Enemy, Beastie Boys, Dutch, and Urban Dance Squad amongst others).
