This is the Nike Zoom KD IV (4) Weatherman edition. This is the first color way of the KD IV (4) to release and dubbed by Kevin Durant himself as his favorite. These shoes are a part of the Nike Basketball "Lockout Pack" which released on December 10th, 2011 and were by far the headlining model. The "Lockout Pack" featured three models corresponding to players Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, and Andre Iguodala. Each pair drew inspiration from the career these players would see themselves in IF there was indeed no NBA. As a child Kevin Durant wanted to a television weather man so this shoe features a Lush Green upper reminiscent of the green screens used to project the forecast and a "Doppler Radar" pattern on the heel and strap. The sole is made of translucent rubber that gives way to a similar DR pattern which illustrates KD's footprint. On the inside of the shoe are symbols of lighting, storms, and sunshine. The design also integrates key details like KD's number 35, his back to back scoring title gaining points per game averages of 30.1 (2009-2010) and 28.6 (2011 post season), and 62 for the points he scored at Rucker Park during the NBA Lockout. It is also coincidental that KD plays for the Oklahoma City "Thunder" and his shoe is the Weatherman, all too perfect. This pair is very special and one of Nike Basketball's most successful releases of 2011. These shoes are extremely limited and the few stores that did receive them were limited to 15 or less pairs. Collectors do not sleep and add this pair to your collection as Kevin Durant continues to rise in the ranks and set himself apart as arguably the best player in the league.
