This is the Nike Dunk High Supreme "Be True To Your School" edition which features a combination of varsity red, sail, varsity maize, and midnight navy. This pair is a part of the very limited "Be True To Your School" Pack which released in 2008 in commemoration of the original Nike Dunk campaign back in 1985. The Dunk, designed by Peter Moore, has been one of the staples of Nike ever since it was introduced in 1985. It's inspiration was the infamous 1984 iconic Air Jordan 1 model; it was the alternate AJ1 created for other (non-Jordan) players in the NBA and college level alike. The original campaign was called the "Be True To Your School Campaign" and it featured 7 NCAA schools who would sport their own matching Nike Dunk model color way. The list included Michigan, Iowa St., UNLV, Villanova, Syracuse, Kentucky, and St. John's. Those were the original Nike Dunk color ways and are what led to one of the most iconic and influential sneaker models of all time. For the 20th Anniversary of the original 85' "BTTYS" campaign, in 2005 Nike retroed all of the OG Nike Dunk color ways.
This pair is the second of three premium models in the 2008 "BTTYS Pack" and features a perforated leather varsity red toe box, varsity royal leather mudguard, varsity maize Nylon side panel, midnight navy leather heel panels and outsole, and an orange blaze Nylon ankle guard. In addition it has a sail colored midsole, as well as sail on the Suede tongue and swoosh. On the tongue tag is the colorful "Be True" text while the insole sports images of the original Nike Dunk color ways. Each of the three models was a combination of all those original Nike Dunk school color ways. The release was exclusive to "Tier 0" Nike accounts and each model was limited to 98 pairs. To this day this is one of the most limited Nike Dunk High (Non-SB) releases.
