This is the Jordan Melo 5.5 "Syracuse" edition. This shoe features an all white upper with an orange Felt midsole and a half translucent and half solid rubber outsole. The concept for this "5.5" derived from the designer taking inspiration from the Air Jordan V (5) and the VI (6). From the Air Jordan V (5) we see the 3M on the tongue, the "Warhawk" teeth on the midsole, the side perforations, and the toe box. The Air Jordan VI (6) can be seen on the structure of the tongue and high ankle, the visible Air and translucent rubber outsole. This pair features some special references to Melo like his Cuse and Denver number 15, "Myrtle Ave." his Baltimore street, and the "CA" tattoo that represents his emerald birthstone. This color way was designed for the players of the Syracuse Univeristy basketball team. During his one year at Syracuse Melo averaged 22 points per game with 10 rebounds leading them to the NCAA National Championship in 2003, received the NCAA Freshmen of The Year award, and the tournaments Most Outstanding Player Award. Any Melo aficionado and collector will most definitely appreciate this pair.
