This is a D.A.R.E. jacket in black and red. D.A.R.E. is the Drug Abuse Resistance Education program which originated in the UK during 1995 but made a huge impact here in the U.S. during the late 1990's. Many of us remember D.A.R.E. from our early education days coming into our classrooms and school us on saying no to drugs. Today D.A.R.E. still operates in 75% of school districts in the U.S. and over 26 million children taking part in the program. They also operate in over 42 other countries with over 10 million children in the program. This jacket is a bomber/flight style jacket featuring the D.A.R.E. logo on the back with the message "To Keep Kids Off Drugs". Anyone who wears this jacket would be paying homage to the program that one way or another made an impact on their life and carrying the positive message of drug awareness.
