This is a vintage Chalk Line jacket for Major League Baseball's Cincinatti Reds. One could say that the Cincinnati Reds are the first openly professional baseball franchise in history tracing their roots to The Cincinnati Red Stockings. was formed in 1966 and the Cincinnati Red Stockings formed in 1869 were the first team to pay players and had 10 players on salary. The Reds as we know them were formed as an independent team in 1881 and joined the National League in 1890. The Reds are a staple of Major League Baseball and have won 5 World Series titles (1919, 1940, 1975, 1976, 1990). During the 1970's they were nicknamed "The Big Red Machine" and won back to back titles in 75' and 76' behind back to back NL MVP performances from Hall of Famer Joe Morgan. During this time they got a new logo with their mascot Mr. Redlegs in the center of the C as seen on this jacket. This jacket dates back to the early 1980's when that logo was still used. Any vintage collector, baseball or Cinci fan should not hesitate to acquire this piece.
