The shoe features a premium patent leather upper to resemble the green glass champagne bottles. The metallic gold accents on the tongue and midsole resembles the gold foil labels on most Champagne bottles. The tongue and heel tab feature translucent rubber (like the outsole) which is supposed to resemble the ice cube, as most bottles are cool in buckets of ice. This pair puts aside the OG Jordan 6 lace locks for a pair of Championship rings that add the ultimate detail to complete this special limited edition release.
During the 1990-1991 season MJ was a man on a mission. When the Bulls made the playoffs, off the bat they swept the New York Knicks in 3 games. Then went on to play the Philadelphia 76ers who they took down 4-1. In the Eastern Conference Finals they were up against the "Bad Boys" of Detroit and defending NBA Champion Pistons. The series looked like a good one but to our disappointment, it was a clean 4 game sweep. Then, in the NBA Finals, Jordan led the Bulls to a 4-1 rout of the Lakers putting an end to the Magic Johnson and Kareem dynasty of the 80's. In those 17 playoff games he averaged 31.1 points, 8.4 assists, 6.4 rebounds, 2.4 steals and 1.4 blocks per game showing off his entire skill set and truly earning his first NBA Championship ring.
This pair is a true collectors edition and is a must have in every Air Jordan collection. Do not miss your chance to own a pair.
