The holiday season marks a very special time for the Jordan brand their latest introduction is the Air Jordan III (3) Doernbecher edition. For the past 3 years Jordan Brand has introduced a special design that was produced by a talented child from Doernbecher Childrens Hospital. The Air Jordan III (3) was designed by Cole and features a symbolic icey sole and red color way. This is a very unique pair which was released in limited numbers around the country. For the past few years Nike has teamed up with Doernbecher Childrens Hospital to give kids the opportunity to design their own Nike shoe and have a chance for their shoe to come to life as an actual product release. For those of us in the Portland area this is always an event we look forward to. This years winning Jordan design came from Cole Johanson who used personal touches to fill the Air Jordan 3 Retro with discovery elements that were meaningful to him. The varsity-red upper features a diagonal grid that subtly spells his name COLE within the diamond shapes. If you take a look behind the back tab on each of the shoes there is a picture of one of Coles favorite foods: spaghetti on the left shoe and chocolate on the right. Each insole has a word that is representative of common characteristics of the Doernbecher kids: COURAGE and STR3NGTH.
