This is a vintage Adidas Olympic sweatshirt commemorating the 1928 St. Moritz and 1960 Squaw Valley Winter Olympics. The St. Moritz Winter Olympics were only the second official Winter Games, first to be separately held during Winter time. The Squaw Valley Winter Olympics was one of much political tension. With the games held in the U.S. and the Cold War tensions increasing, the U.S. threatened to deny visas to athletes from Communist nations. But the IOC (International Olympic Committee) threatened to move the games out of the U.S. Russia took the lead with 21 total medals. This sweater features the logo for each of the games on the front and back side. This is a very special vintage item and true Adi-heads know that this is a must have in your collection.
